A visit to the seaside

To celebrate our anniversary we took Abigail to the seaside for the first time.



The day started out windy and over cast but it didn't stop us paddling





We've recently read (and re-read) The Big, Big Sea so Abigail found the sea very exciting.





The sun came out in the afternoon and warmed the air

And just before heading home we found a wonderful public paddling pool which the perfect ending to the day.

Abigail enjoyed it so much that even when she was shivering and her teeth were chattering she didn't want to leave.

I am not behind...

Like Flylady says "You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are"

Things are starting to seem a little better and I don't feel like every post I might write is full of my darkness.

I was going to to try and catch up with the last few months but I don't think that's realistic and will probably continue to stop me posting.

So, I'm just going to jump in with both feet from where we are.

One Day...

...I'll read all the books that I get out of the library
...I'll cook all the recipes I've bookmarked
...I'll make all the projects I'm planning
...I'll use up all the fabric I've got stashed

...I'll keep the house tidy for more than three days at the time
...I won't lose my temper every day
...I'll move away from the computer.

Simple Woman's Daybook #2

Outside my window... it's dark now, but we've had bright sunshine all day.

I am thinking... about starting to go to bed earlier, I'm so tired by this time at night.

I am thankful for... the DIY-capable people in my family. And for having my own tool kit, so I can always find a screwdriver when I need one.

From the kitchen... We had bacon baguettes for lunch. Simple but delicious.

I am wearing... battered black combat trousers, brown & orange tie-dye t-shirt, black & white stripy jumper. (Wow, that's almost the same as last time).

I am creating... Homemade laundry detergent, homemade beeswax polish and homemade hand balm.

I am going... to see my Dad on Friday.

I am reading... Sewing Green and Chicks with Sticks guide to crochet

I am hoping... that I can find the bed due to major overhauling upstairs.

I am hearing... very little. The kitchen clock is ticking, reminding me it's late.

Around the house... I have managed to get Abigail's room almost perfect for her first night in there.

One of my favorite things... is hearing Abigail say "I 'uve you"

A few plans for the rest of the week: Some serious tidying over the next few days. All the DIY round here has left things in disarray.
